Restless Legs | Peace & Calming

Something oily to blog about everyday you say?  Well, when you reach a certain age, yes.  There’s gonna be something almost everyday that is oil worthy.  Trust me.

I have a terrible time with restless legs.  I’ve never ‘officially’ been diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome but my hubs has and from what he describes it’s the same thing I have on occasion.  And it can drive you seriously batty!  It’s like having ants in your pants, you just can’t keep still, and it seems like nothing will work to soothe the constant nagging and irritation it brings.  Maddening some days I tell ya.  Maddening.

When I was surfing the world wide web one day for something else I came across this picture:

1920280_763899510294501_777220744_nand my heart melted.  Seriously.  I thought oh could it be possible that this simple little ‘cure’ could give me some relief?  These were both oils that I had on hand because they come in the starter kit I had purchased.  I’m definitely a rx med avoider.  Like, I seriously tell people I have to be dying before I want to go to a doctor or a hospital.  Don’t get me wrong, there is a need for physicians and I’m not opposed to using them when necessary.  But we do not run to the doctor in our house with every little ache and pain or sniffle.  You’ll pardon my frankness when I say people that do jump and run at the drop of a hat annoy me.  😉  There, I said it.  Suck it up a little nancy! lol

I thought I’d post this today since I was reminded once again last night just how awesome this little duo is for my restless legs.  My left one was about to send me into orbit last night.  Sitting on the couch watching tv with the family and surfin on the laptop and my left leg felt like it was going to flip me clean off the couch.  UGH.  It was awful!!!  After getting seriously perturbed when I’d kicked and jabbed my foot into the end of the sofa for probably 20 minutes I remembered……you ditz!  Go Get Your OILS!

I put a few drops of lavender around my leg and behind my knee.  Massaged a little into my calf, and then put some peace and calming on the bottom of my foot, the back of my neck and inhaled from the bottle like I could suck the juice right out of the dropper.  Seriously, within minutes my leg had ‘calmed down’.  It never ceases to amaze me how quickly these oils can work on some things.  Yes, in certain situations and chronic conditions it can be a timely (but effective!) process.  But there are soooo many things that can get a quick fix, naturally.  If you are just open to trying them.

I headed off to bed shortly after and put another drop or two of peace and calming on the bottoms of both feet, dropped some in the diffuser and hit the sheets.  I slept like a baby and was up earlier than normal this morning.  Okay, I was up earlier because the hubs woke me up when he was getting ready for work, but at least I feel rested.
